# About statemaps.net

How this privacy database researches iPhone controls, access boundaries and recovery.

Updated: 2026-10-31

## Our scope

statemaps.net explains iPhone app access, photo privacy, sharing and recovery through task, app, glossary and tool references. This educational website is not affiliated with Apple or the third-party apps discussed here.

## How we research

Guides link to Apple support and provider documentation. Product comparisons identify vendor claims and do not imply hands-on testing or an independent security audit. We publish review dates and welcome specific corrections through the contact page.

## What a guide can establish

Interface names and service features change. Check the source for your installed release and verify workflows with a harmless sample. We do not promise rankings, recovery success or that any storage choice eliminates every privacy risk.

## Private photo and document storage

For photos and documents you choose to store separately, explore [VaultForYou](https://www.vaultforyou.app/).
